Gar-Bro Lp Low-Profile Concrete Bucket 5Cy

Gar-Bro LP Series Lightweight Low-Profile Concrete Bucket 1.5 CY with 15" x 22" Gate

The Gar-Bro 441-LP is a 1.5 cubic yard, low-profile concrete placement bucket engineered for high-volume pours where loading height is a critical constraint. Part of the LP Series lineup, it features a 15" x 22" double clamshell gate, a 72" inside diameter, and a loading height of just 43 inches making it ideal for operations where overhead clearance or pump truck access limits the use of taller buckets. Designed for crane-assisted concrete placement, the 441-LP is built for general contractors, concrete subcontractors, and construction crews demanding reliable, repeatable performance on structural pours.

What sets the LP Series apart from conventional concrete buckets is the combination of large-volume capacity with a deliberately low loading height delivering more concrete per lift without requiring elevated pour setups. The renowned Gar-Bro "grout tight" double clamshell gate prevents slump loss and spillage between pours, a feature that directly reduces material waste and cleanup time on the job. Every LP Series bucket is designed to meet or exceed ASME standards, giving crews and site managers confidence in the structural integrity of the equipment under load.

Key Features & Benefits

"Grout Tight" Double Clamshell Gate

Gar-Bro's proprietary double clamshell gate seals completely between pours, preventing grout bleed-out and slump loss during crane transit. This means less wasted material, cleaner job sites, and no need to retemper concrete before placement a real advantage on multi-lift structural pours.

Low-Profile, Large-Volume Design

The 441-LP delivers 1.5 cubic yards (41 cubic feet level capacity) with a loading height of only 43 inches. This allows direct loading from ready-mix trucks without the need for elevated platforms or specialized equipment, saving setup time and improving pour cycle efficiency.

ASME-Compliant Construction

All Gar-Bro LP Series buckets are designed to meet or exceed ASME standards for lifting equipment. This compliance is a prerequisite on many commercial and government job sites and gives rigging crews assurance that the bucket will perform safely under rated load conditions.

72" Inside Diameter

The wide 72-inch inside diameter allows fast, even loading from standard ready-mix truck chutes without requiring precise positioning. This speeds up the loading cycle and reduces the risk of concrete bridging or uneven fills that can affect placement accuracy.

15" x 22" Gate Opening

The gate size controls pour rate and placement precision. The 15" x 22" opening on the 441-LP gives operators consistent, controllable discharge critical for structural pours, columns, walls, and slab work where overpour or splashing can cause form blowouts or surface defects.

Optional Accessories for Extended Versatility

The 441-LP is compatible with the Item 409 Accordion Hopper for directing concrete into tight or restricted placements. Optional Side Chutes (Item 482-LPSC) and forklift pockets are also available, allowing this bucket to adapt to varied site conditions without replacing the base unit.

Proprietary Trade Dress & Registered Design

The combination of features in Gar-Bro's LP Series including the lifting bail configuration, gate design, hooped wrap-around gate lever, and gate spring placement is a registered trademark (U.S. Trademark Registration No. 7334449) and protected trade dress. Contractors can be confident they are purchasing an authentic, factory-engineered design with no compromised imitation components.

Common Applications

Structural Concrete Placement

The 441-LP is purpose-built for crane-lifted concrete pours on structural elements including columns, beams, and elevated slabs where precise, controlled discharge is required.

High-Rise and Multi-Story Construction

Low loading height combined with a 1.5 CY rated capacity makes the 441-LP efficient for high-rise floors where ready-mix trucks cannot reach directly and crane placement is the primary method.

Foundation and Mat Slab Pours

The wide inside diameter and large gate allow rapid filling and controlled discharge for high-volume foundation pours where pour rate and consistency are priorities.

Wall and Column Pours

The grout-tight gate prevents premature discharge between lifts, making the 441-LP well suited for sequential column and wall pours where concrete must arrive at full slump without loss.

Precast and Tilt-Up Operations

Precise gate control and low-profile design support precast panel and tilt-up slab pours where uniform concrete distribution across forms is critical to panel quality.

Bridge Deck and Infrastructure Projects

ASME-compliant construction and reliable gate sealing make the LP Series a suitable choice for bridge deck pours and DOT infrastructure work where equipment certification is often required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes the LP Series different from Gar-Bro's R Series and G Series buckets?
A: The LP Series is specifically engineered for large-volume, low loading-height applications. Where the R Series uses a round gate and the G Series is a heavier-duty general-purpose design, the LP Series combines a wide-diameter low-profile body with the double clamshell gate to maximize capacity while minimizing the height needed to load from a ready-mix truck.

Q: Is the 441-LP compatible with forklift pockets?
A: Yes. Optional forklift pockets are available for all LP Series buckets including the 441-LP. Contact Gar-Bro or your Diamond Tool Store representative to order this accessory.

Q: Can I use the Item 409 Accordion Hopper with the 441-LP?
A: Yes. All LP Series buckets are designed to accept the optional Item 409 Accordion Hopper, which allows concrete to be directed into tighter or more restricted placement locations.

Q: Does the 441-LP meet ASME standards?
A: Yes. All Gar-Bro LP Series buckets, including the 441-LP, are designed to meet or exceed ASME standards for lifting equipment a requirement on many commercial, industrial, and government job sites.

Q: Are extension collars available for additional capacity?
A: Yes. 1/4 CY and 1/2 CY extension collars are available for all LP Series buckets, allowing rated capacity to be increased when job conditions permit.

Q: What side chute option is compatible with LP Series buckets?
A: Item 482-LPSC is the side chute designed to fit all LP Series buckets. It provides a lateral discharge option for pours where direct bottom discharge is impractical due to form geometry or access constraints.
