SMITH Replacement Drum Scarifiers for Concrete & Asphalt Surface Preparation

SMITH Drum Scarifiers are complete replacement cutter drum assemblies engineered to restore the cutting performance of SMITH scarifiers used for concrete, asphalt, and steel surface preparation. Each drum is precision assembled with the proper shafts, cutters, and spacers to deliver consistent cutting action, balanced operation, and the surface profile required for your application.

Available in multiple drum sizes and cutter configurations, these replacement drums allow contractors to quickly swap assemblies for different surface preparation requirements, minimizing downtime while maximizing productivity.

Why Choose Genuine SMITH Drum Assemblies?

Ready-to-Install Assemblies

Each drum includes the required drum body, cutter shafts, cutters, and spacers for the selected configuration, making installation fast and straightforward.

Consistent Surface Profiles

SMITH drum assemblies are engineered to produce predictable Concrete Surface Profiles (CSP/SP), helping contractors meet coating manufacturers' surface preparation requirements.

Heavy-Duty Construction

Built for demanding commercial and industrial applications, SMITH drums are manufactured to withstand continuous use on concrete, asphalt, and steel surfaces.

Quick Drum Changes

Using multiple drum assemblies allows operators to change cutter styles quickly without rebuilding individual drums on the jobsite.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a scarifying drum?

A scarifying drum is the rotating cutter assembly inside a scarifier that holds the cutter shafts, carbide cutters, and spacers responsible for removing concrete, asphalt, coatings, and other surface materials.

Can I replace only the drum instead of the entire machine?

Yes. SMITH replacement drum assemblies allow you to restore your scarifier or quickly switch between cutter configurations without replacing the entire machine.

What is the difference between coarse, medium, and fine drums?

Coarse drums create a more aggressive surface profile for heavy material removal, medium drums are ideal for general-purpose surface preparation, and fine drums produce a smoother finish for lighter applications.

How do I know which drum fits my machine?

Each drum is designed for specific SMITH scarifier models, including the FS050, FS150, SPS8, SPS10, and FS351. Always verify your machine model before ordering.

Can these drums be used on asphalt and steel?

Yes. Depending on the cutter configuration, SMITH drum assemblies can be used on concrete, asphalt, and even steel surfaces for cleaning, profiling, and coating removal.
