Superior V-Max Sv-1 Vinyl Ester Stone Adhesive Quart

Superior V-MAX SV-1 Vinyl Ester Stone Adhesive Strongest Bond for Light & White Stone

The Superior V-MAX SV-1 is a 100% vinyl ester stone adhesive formulated from high-quality specialty resins for professional stone fabricators and installers. It is engineered for laminating, rodding, crack repair, and chip repair on both natural and engineered stone surfaces. As a syrup/pourable viscosity adhesive, SV-1 is the lowest-viscosity option in the V-MAX line, making it ideal for flowing into cracks, tight joints, and lamination bonds. It is rated for interior use and compatible with all types of natural and engineered stone.

V-MAX SV-1 is recognized as the strongest bonding vinyl ester adhesive in the stone industry and the most translucent vinyl ester adhesive from can-to-cure. Its pearlescent white color delivers virtually invisible joints on light and white-colored stones a critical performance advantage over standard epoxy or polyester adhesives that yellow or remain visible at the seam. Three viscosity options (SV-1, SV-5, SV-9) allow fabricators to select the right flow rate for each specific application.

Key Features & Benefits

Maximum Bond Strength Vinyl Ester Technology

V-MAX adhesives are formulated with vinyl ester resin, which delivers superior chemical resistance and mechanical strength compared to conventional polyester-based stone adhesives. For fabricators working on structural laminations and rodding applications, this translates to joints that resist delamination under load and thermal cycling. This is the strongest bonding vinyl ester adhesive available in the stone fabrication industry.

Most Translucent Vinyl Ester from Can-to-Cure

SV-1 maintains its translucency throughout the entire curing process from the moment it is dispensed to full cure. This is critical for fabricators working with white or light-colored marble, quartzite, and engineered stone where even slight yellowing or color shift in the adhesive will be visible at the joint. Achieving invisible seams on premium stone is not possible with adhesives that shift color during cure.

Pearlescent White Color Ideal for Light Stone

The pearlescent white appearance of V-MAX SV-1 makes it the preferred choice when working with white and light-colored natural and engineered stones. Color-matched seams reduce the need for additional coloring agents or tinting, saving time in the fabrication workflow and delivering consistent, professional results.

Syrup/Pourable Viscosity (SV-1)

SV-1's flowing, pourable consistency allows it to penetrate narrow cracks, fill tight lamination gaps, and self-level into rodding channels without requiring heavy working pressure. This viscosity is essential for crack repair applications where the adhesive must wick into the fracture fully to restore structural integrity. Fabricators working on thin stone or intricate edge profiles benefit from the control that a low-viscosity adhesive provides.

Fast Gel and Cure Time

With a gel time of 34 minutes and full cure in approximately 20 minutes, V-MAX SV-1 supports fast shop throughput without sacrificing bond quality. Fabricators can move slabs through the line without long dwell times, reducing bottlenecks in production environments. The short working window also reduces the risk of adhesive sag or migration on vertical or angled surfaces.

Compatible with UCS Materials

V-MAX SV-1 is specifically noted as compatible with Ultra-Compact Surface (UCS) materials such as Dekton, Neolith, and similar sintered stone products. These materials are notoriously difficult to bond with standard adhesives, and compatibility with UCS expands the range of projects where SV-1 can be used with confidence.

Common Applications

Laminating

SV-1's pourable viscosity allows complete coverage between lamination surfaces, ensuring a full-contact bond across the entire joint face. This is essential for structural laminations on countertop edges, waterfall edges, and stacked stone assemblies.

Rodding

For reinforcing fragile or long-span slabs with embedded fiberglass or steel rods, SV-1 flows into routed channels cleanly and encapsulates the rod fully for maximum reinforcement. The fast cure time allows rodded slabs to be handled and moved quickly without extended wait times.

Crack Repair

The syrup consistency of SV-1 allows it to penetrate hairline cracks and fractures by capillary action, delivering adhesive deep into the break for a structural repair. This results in a significantly stronger repair than surface-fill methods using higher-viscosity adhesives.

Chip Repair

SV-1 is suitable for repairing chipped edges and corners on stone slabs. Its translucency and white color allow repairs on light-colored stone to blend visually, minimizing the visibility of the repair area after grinding and polishing.

Invisible Seaming on Light/White Stone

The combination of pearlescent white color and full translucency from can-to-cure makes SV-1 the optimal adhesive when invisible seams are required on white marble, white quartzite, white engineered stone, and similar materials.

UCS and Engineered Stone Fabrication

Fabricators working with ultra-compact surfaces (Dekton, Neolith) and engineered quartz can rely on SV-1's vinyl ester chemistry for bonds that meet the demanding adhesion requirements of these dense, low-porosity materials.

Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

1. Ensure all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oils, sealers, or contaminants.
2. For crack repair, open the crack slightly if needed to allow adhesive penetration; remove loose material.
3. For laminating and rodding, confirm surfaces are flat and properly aligned prior to adhesive application.

Mixing

1. Add BPO (benzoyl peroxide) catalyst at a ratio of 1%3% by weight to the SV-1 adhesive base.
2. Mix thoroughly to ensure uniform catalyst distribution. Incomplete mixing will result in inconsistent gel and cure times.
3. Note: Higher catalyst percentages within the 1%3% range will shorten gel time; adjust based on ambient temperature and working time requirements.

Application

1. Apply mixed adhesive immediately after mixing gel time is 34 minutes.
2. For crack repair, pour or inject SV-1 directly into the crack and allow it to flow and self-level.
3. For laminating, apply an even bead or spread to one bonding surface and bring surfaces together firmly.
4. For rodding, fill routed channels with SV-1 and place the rod, ensuring full encapsulation.

Cure

1. Allow adhesive to cure undisturbed for approximately 20 minutes at ambient temperature.
2. Do not disturb, load, or move bonded assemblies until full cure is achieved.
3. After cure, excess adhesive can be trimmed or ground flush as required.
